This stand-alone and simple-to-use unit in many cases substitutes costly computer based control systems for light manipulation. The SynchroLux Compact 400E is used in regular, every-day routine tasks as well as in experimental activities.

Automatic functions.

	Clock controlled, automatic light dimming with ramp function.
	Selectable points of time for light increase/ decrease. Step = 1 min.
	Selectable period of time for increasing light, 0 - 59 min. Step = 1 min.
	Selectable period of time for decreasing light, 0 - 59 min. Step = 1 min.
	Selectable minimum and maximum light levels, 0 - 100% of full brightness. Min. light < max. light. Step = 1% of full brightness.
	Scaleable day-night period, 10 - 250% of normal 24 hours.(2,4 - 60 hours). Step = 1%.
	Selectable LED display blanking, 0 - 24 hours after last button pushed, or never. Step = 1 s.

Interactive operation for all user settings by 4 push buttons and an 8 digits LED display.
Each manual operation is accomplished by one button push only.

SynchroLux Compact 400E is a small but powerful stand-alone computer for calculating and gradually dimming incandescent lamp light (ordinary light bulbs or halogen light sources). This device computes and adjusts lamp power 50 times each second, giving a very smoothly changing light level and no disturbing unpredictable steps or irregularities. Light regulation is smooth over the full range from darkness to full light level.

SynchroLux Compact 400E contains all necessary functions for real time clock, user selected settings and operations and all functions for automatic light dimming. No PCs, PLDs or similar equipment are required. The device is connected using standard plugs only.

The 'Compact 400E makes you able to explore or utilize the impact of changing light levels on circadian and circa anno biological rhythms in animals, plants or humans. The device is well suited for ordinary, daily routine tasks as well as for experimental activities.

Basic function is the computer controlled cycling of day- night light levels, selecting timing of 'day' (max or full light), 'evening' (decreasing light), night (min. light or darkness), 'morning' (increasing light) and the duration of the total light cycle to impact daily biological rhythms in fishes, birds, animals or plants. Organized sequences of daily light cycles will impact annual biological rhythms. Typically behavior like activity/ rest, feeding, sexual maturity, time of spawning, time of mating and smoltification may be controlled by planned light regimes.

SynchroLux' ability to dim light slowly without sudden, unpredictable steps gives the benefit of less stress, better animal health and welfare.
